Copper Engraving, 1948

My dad did something seldom done even then -- engraving, not etching (though he did those too), engraving. He has a 3 color engraving, "Night Flight" in the Library of Congress. The intaglio print above is an engraving over aquatint, flat bite etching, and soft ground etching -- it is a print my father did of me from a pencil drawing; it must have been while he was teaching at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. I would have been two and a half at the time.
